Pain relief for pets and people
The Physiokey is based on non-invasive, interactive neurostimulation. It uses bio-adaptive impulse therapy to generate a sort of “dialogue” with the body which takes place in microseconds, stimulating self-regulation through biofeedback-controlled impulses. The effect on the autonomic nervous system and thus on the body’s own adjustment and regulatory processes strengthens the body’s defence mechanisms and shows the body a route to self-healing. The aim of the therapy is rapid pain relief and improvement in function, accelerated healing post injury, decreasing pain, inflammation and muscle spasm and increasing flexibility and range of motion.
The Physiokey is a small hand held device that delivers variable electrical stimulation through direct contact with the skin with little to no discomfort; it can feel pleasurable and relaxing. Animals especially respond well to it, often appearing sleepy or sedated.
Physiokey produces both:
- Local effects by stimulating the skin, blood and muscle vessels
- General effects by influencing nervous, endocrine and immune systems.
More than 80% of patients notice a significant change in their symptoms after treatment. Users report an improvement in the tensile state of the muscles. A rapid reduction of soft tissue swelling and increased lymph drainage can also be observed in a large number of patients.
How Does it Work?
The skin is the largest organ in vertebrates, an important site for perception of multiple stimuli, and it’s electrical properties are directly correlated with the body organs and systems.
By ‘interactive neurostimulation’, we mean the device responds automatically to changes in the electrical properties of the skin and tissue. In this way it is more advanced than many other types of neurostimulators on the market. The Physiokey has a conversation with the body, the waveform adjusting itself according to skin impedance.
The Physiokey signal is very close to the body’s natural nerve impulse, accelerating the body’s inherent ability to heal. Often the body is caught up in a chronic loop of pain and dysfunction, and the Physiokey can be the catalyst for snapping it out of that cycle into the healing process that the body is perfectly capable of.
